Artists in residence in Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil

Artists of many different disciplines are invited each year to participate in the project led by the Ateliers Médicis in Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil, in outreach with its residents and its community.

The Ateliers Médicis invite artists to participate in a creation residency, ranging from one week to one year, working on a project which will be co-developed. They will give these artists the technical and financial conditions to be able to conceive, write, produce, prepare and/or complete an original work, in coordination with residents from the community.

The artists will be part of the Ateliers Médicis project and its commitments:

• Transmitting and sharing artistic practice with everyone
• Being a resource for creation, and establishing exchange networks between artists

The artists will therefore be sharing their work with the residents of Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil, in fact with all audiences. They will be encouraged to chronicle the time they spend in their residencies, including their personal reflections, artistic advances and questions.

For whom is this program intended?

The program brings together artists and researchers from all disciplines whose work resonates with the Ateliers Médicis cultural program and mission. It addresses universal and unique problems along with the construction of the Ateliers Médicis project. As it is by invitation, the program does not have a formal application process.
